Overview

Mata Pelajaran Pengajian Umum (MPU) is a mandatory component of all undergraduate programs in Malaysia, as stipulated by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

At the Centre for University Courses and Innovative Learning, we offer MPU courses that aim to:

  • Cultivate critical and ethical thinking

  • Encourage cultural awareness and national identity

  • Promote personal and professional growth

MPU courses are organized into four categories (U1–U4) and carry a total of 12 credit hours.

  • U1 – Develop awareness of ethical values, philosophy, and national history.

  • U2 – Strengthen entrepreneurial skills and language mastery.

  • U3 – Foster integrity, anti-corruption practices, and civic responsibility.

  • U4 – Promote teamwork and social engagement through co-curricular activities.

Note: MPU3222 Bahasa Kebangsaan A is compulsory only for Malaysian students who did not obtain credit in Bahasa Melayu SPM. This course is taken once for any level of study as a part of the U2 component.
